Hi there everyone well it has been some time since I last put fingers to the keyboard and many things have been and gone such as Christmas, school holidays, Easter and many more events that are to numerous to mention. Since I last blogged we have all had heaps of rain and the country is looking a beautiful. Well things were a little busy over the Christmas period however I have not been doing much since then with mu line of products but as you can imagine Guy has kept me rather busy on the place; I am now starting to crank things up again.
With selling the product line through the Coffee house in Goondiwindi over the Christmas period it was a great way of finding out the better selling lines that I should concentrate on as my base lines which then I can add to on special occasions such as Christmas, i.e.- The Hampers, Christmas Cakes and Puddings. Through doing this I was also able to work out to costing of my products which was rather interesting but I do believe that these costing would be a little less when I start buying in bulk.
I have been asked to have a stall with my products at a fundraising event in Okay in July and I have accepted this invitation and am looking very much to this day, hope to be able to get more feedback on my product to be able to blog to you all about. I am also going to explore to option of maybe seeing if I might be able to sell my product through the Spa throughout the tourist period.
I have had some wonderful feedback on my products and it was also mentioned to me that I should have my name and phone number on the product label so I will make this slight change and see what happens.
Cheer for now and I hope not to leave it 4 months till the next blog talk to you then.

No.2 Starting the line of sweets
Hi everyone since I was last talking to you I have been very busy, I have established a market in a Coffee Shop to trial a sample of my sweets and other goodies that I intend on selling. I have made and sold one batch of them and am about to send off the second batch. I did have one failure in the first batch and that was that the Rocky-Road could not handle the extreme heat and the chocolate went taint. I have been keeping a record of the costing of the products and also what are the best sellers so as to see which products to concentrate on as my main ones and then on the special occasions bring in the other lines. Well I look forward to talking to you after Christmas with some more news good or bad and being on goal to achieving my goals that I have set as I feel that I am well on my way. Cheers and may you all have a very a fantastic Festive break.

No.1 Women Leading Change
Hi my name is Libby Walker, I am a 41 year old unsackable Jillaroo, I have tried many times to be sacked believe me, however he just will not sack me, maybe it is to do with the fact that I am also his wife, the children’s mother, a musterer, a fencer, a cleaner, a cook, a gardener and you name it but I will not be the tractor driver even I refuse to do that as if I was to learn to do that what do I need him for?
Like I said I am Libby Walker and along side of my dear husband Guy and 3 children Adam, Matt and Ella, we run a Beef Enterprise on our property Roslin. Roslin has been in my family for 4 generation and now the 5 generation is working on the property. Roslin is situated 90kms west of Mitchell off the Warrego highway; it is a 14,000acres property which is highly buffelled thus allowing us to concentrate on putting in other improved pastures.Roslin is run as a beef enterprise comprising of a breading and trading herd hopefully allowing us to try and meet most markets. We (me, Guy and the children) work well as a team which enables us to strive towards our goals for out property as one identity. We are always trying to improve the property by the use of environmentally responsible grazing strategies. Roslin is one of my passions but I also love gardening and cooking I am very much a hands on person I love creating things with my hands .I like that my passions operate very much on ones senses, sight, touch, smell and taste and I love the challenge of being able to incorporate them into my creations being a cake or a vista in my garden.
Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather over periods of time that range from decades to millions of years. It can be change in the average weather (for example, greater of fewer extreme weather events). With this in mind weather you agree with what is happening to the climate as “Climate Change” or a “Cycle” it is having an effect on the production and management of our enterprise. The political parties of all denominations are not entirely clear on the ways that they wish to tackle this issue making even more variables that will affect our enterprise. On Roslin we have implemented a water programme that will help with themanagement of the property over prolong dry times, We also believe in rejuvenating the soil, which allows water retention over the country encouraging the regeneration of sustainable and productive pastures allowing the implantation of holistic grazing practices that are ecologically based which we hope will allow us to better manage the climate risks. In recognizing that the climate is having an effect on our Primary Production enterprise I hope to explore through this course some other avenues that allows me to tap into my other passions and talents gardening and cooking allowing me still to be as hands on with the workings of the property.
These ideas being that when the garden is at its full potential have some form of Farm tourism and also use the garden for fundraising event where I cater for them as well. I wish to also explore more catering and peruse some form of garden design but my immediate idea is to get a line of homemade sweets and on special occasions like Christmas have hampers which I plan to sell through coffee shops. I plan to Identify myself as the label ‘The Cow Label ‘.
I leave you with this thought- Follow your dreams, Reach for the stars, Believe in yourself, And love who you are.
I have created a blog to document my progress as I develop and implement my business plan; you are welcome to follow my progress at:http:/thecowlabel.blogspot.com
